9. Events, Maximum Numbers of Entrants and Time Limits |
・The team competition is for people who enter as a group of three to six members, and those who are recommended as Team Spirit (Municipal Competition) entries. ・Participants entering the team competition must provide a team name. ・Rankings will be based on the average net times of the top three participants on each team. ・The first, second and third place winners will be awarded. (Please refer to Section 14, “Awards”.) |

(1) Marathon Starting point: In front of Shiohama Park (Kisarazu City) (2) Half-marathon, wheelchair half-marathon Starting point: In front of Shiohama Park (Kisarazu City) Note: If the executive committee determines that the bridge section of the Tokyo Bay Aqualine is unusable due to strong winds or other adverse weather conditions, the event courses will be shortened to challenge runs. These will take place on local roads, with the marathon switching to a 31.4-kilometer course and the half-marathon and wheelchair half-marathon switching to a 10.3-kilometer course. |

11. Eligibility |
(1) Those born on or before April 1, 2004 who can finish the race within the time limit. (2) Wheelchair half-marathon participation is limited to people in wheelchairs designed for racing. People who have no disabilities are not permitted to apply. (3) Competitors who want to enter the marathon or half-marathon but cannot run the race alone due to a disability may have a companion (caregiver) run with them. You must arrange your own companion. Please note that guide dogs will not be allowed. |

16. Checkpoint Restrictions |
Checkpoints will be shut down at scheduled times if required due to traffic, security and event operations. Additionally, runners who are particularly far behind will be asked to stop competing, even in places other than checkpoints.

17. Aid stations |
Aid stations will be set up as follows to provide first aid measures in case of injuries, illness or other mishaps.

24. International Exchange |
This marathon is held in conjunction with a marathon held in Taiwan. We may select a few runners who will have completed the Chiba Aqualine Marathon 2022 to be sent to participate in the marathon in Taiwan. Note: Following the 2018 Marathon, we sent three runners to the Taoyuan Half-marathon, two to the Taipei Marathon, and three to the Kaohsiung International Marathon. |

25. Handling of Personal Information |
(1) The organizers recognize the importance of safeguarding personal information, comply with the law regarding protection of personal information and related laws, and handle personal information in accordance with their personal information protection guidelines. The personal information provided is used to improve services provided to people entering the marathon, provide information about participation, notify people about their records and relevant information, and provide services from sponsors and cooperating and affiliated organizations. Additionally, the organizers or contractors of the organizer may contact people to confirm the details of their applications. (2) Television, newspaper, magazine, Internet and other publication rights and portrait rights pertaining to images, photos, articles and the names, ages, addresses (names of countries, prefectures, and municipalities) and such of marathon entries belong to the organizers. (3) You must cooperate with the organizer’s COVID-19 countermeasures, including supplying your personal information for transmission to public health centers and medical institutions. |

26. Chiba Aqualine Marathon Application Terms and Points to Note Regarding Applications (Please make sure to read) |
Participants must agree to the following terms when applying: (1) Cancellations or refunds based on personal circumstances are not permitted after payment has been made. (2) Participation will be revoked in cases of misrepresentation of such things as the participant’s age, gender and/or records or participation by anyone other than the applicants themselves (fraudulent participation). (3) If the event is canceled due to adverse weather conditions, a natural disaster or other circumstances beyond the organizer’s control, the amount and availability of paid entry fees refunded will be determined based on the expenses incurred up to the decision to cancel, etc. (4) Excess or duplicate payments will not be refunded. (5) The organizers will handle all personal information gathered from participants in compliance with the laws protecting personal information. (6) Please be aware that duplicate applications submitted by the same person for the marathon and half-marathon—as well as for individual and pair or team competition entries—will result in rejection of said applications. (7) Please notify individual contacts in case of changes to registration content during the signup period. (8) Applications cannot be canceled during the signup period. (9) Changes to application and/or registration content, the number of participants in team competition entries or cancellations will not be permitted after the signup period concludes. The office may contact participants via the email addresses or phone numbers they provided about issues related to application or registration contents. (10) Please be advised that the organizing committee office is unable to take questions regarding the status of applications or lottery results by phone. (11) About lottery results 1) Please check “My page, Entry history” on RUNNET.
1. System charges for settlement via the Internet (a total of 5.5 percent of the amount) are to be paid by the applicants. (Separate transfer fees may also be incurred depending on the method of payment.) 2) If the number of people who have paid does not add up to the number of slots available after the payment deadline has passed, another lottery for unsuccessful applicants may be held, and the successful applicants will be notified of their status. The organizers will provide no compensation or refunds whatsoever in such instances. (13) The organizers bear no responsibility whatsoever for applications delayed due to faulty Internet connections. (14) You may be unable to apply due to the device, OS or browser software you use. 27. Other |
(1) The organizer assumes no responsibility for any of the following:
1) Illness (including COVID-19 and the like), injury, accident and the like not attributable to the organizer (3) Wearing items with or displaying designs, trademarks or such that signify company or product names for the purposes of advertising is not permitted at the marathon venue (including routes). (4) The organizers may subcontract sales of photos and such to approved organizations. (5) Participating in the marathon in costumes that endanger health or that the organizers deem the equivalent of such is not permitted. (6) Receipts will not be issued for entry fees and other payments. Bank transfer slips will serve as substitutes for receipts. (7) In addition to the preceding, please follow the organizers’ instructions with regard to matters pertaining to the marathon. Outline of Countermeasures against COVID-19 (draft)
This outline summarizes the countermeasures against the COVID-19 pandemic (hereinafter referred to as “COVID-19”) determined through discussions by the Infection Countermeasure Conference and based on the Guidance on Holding Road Races (third edition; revised on January 6, 2022; hereinafter referred to as “the Guidance”) of the Japan Association of Athletics Federations and other relevant documents.
The event will be held under the presumption that the vaccine and test package system announced on November 19, 2021 will apply.
The Infection Countermeasure Conference may change these contents in response to changes in the COVID-19 situation, government policies, guidance, etc.
I. Criteria for Determining Whether to Hold the Event
(1) Lifting of the declaration of a state of emergency (in principle)
No state of emergency and the like for the Greater Tokyo Area (Chiba, Tokyo, Saitama and Kanagawa) shall be in force.
Note: However, the event may be held after careful consideration if the declaration and the like does not include the cancellation or self-restriction of events.
(2) Approval by relevant municipalities
Chiba Prefecture, Kisarazu City and Sodegaura City must be informed of the event.
(3) Ensure the provision of a medical treatment system
A COVID-19 medical treatment system must be set up in the neighboring areas, including Kisarazu City and Sodegaura City, and local public health centers must be consulted beforehand and their confirmation received regarding the status of the medical system.
II. Participation Criteria
(1) Residents of Japan*
(2) Have not traveled to any country/region the Japanese government designated as a risk (including denial of permission to enter and requiring an observation period after entry), and have not come into close contact with anyone residing in such a country/region during the period from Sunday, October 23 to Sunday, November 6, 2022.
(3) If you received a SARS-CoV-2 PCR test or antigen test between Sunday, October 16 and Sunday, November 6, 2022, the test results must be negative.
(4) If a public health center has identified you as a “person of close contact,” you must undergo a health observation period (14 days) without any symptoms after your last contact with the positive person.
(5) Must not have a fever (37.5℃ or higher) or other symptoms of suspected infection between Sunday, October 30 and Sunday, November 6, 2022.
(6) Must not have family members living in the same household or close acquaintances suspected of being infected.
(7) You must cooperate with the organizer’s COVID-19 countermeasures, including supplying your personal information for transmission to public health centers and medical institutions.
Note: The decision to allow residents of foreign countries to participate will be made around July 15, 2022. Please note that your right to participate may be revoked even after approval due to circumstances such as tighter entry restrictions dictated by new government policies.
Points to note
(1) Please be aware that senior citizens and people with underlying medical conditions infected with COVID-19 are at a higher risk of becoming seriously ill.
(2) We suggest using the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare’s COVID-19 contact-confirmation app, COCOA.
III. COVID-19 Countermeasures
Main countermeasures enforced by the organizer
(1) Establishing an infection control system

(3) Confirming vaccination history and/or negative test results of participating runners
(4) Thoroughly implementing infection control measures for staff and volunteers
(5) Use advance mailings of supplies for runners, staff and volunteers
(6) Expanding runner reception hours (scheduled)
(7) Eliminating changing rooms before the start of the race
(8) Spreading out the waiting line of race participants at the starting line
(9) Providing individually packaged meals
(10) Taking thorough COVID-19 countermeasures during medical treatment and first aid
(11) Issuing record certificates online
Participant compliance
Before the competition
(1) Wear a surgical mask (nonwoven mask) or mask with similar performance characteristics (hereinafter referred to as “mask”) properly, refrain from talking loudly, disinfect your hands properly, and take other measures to prevent infection.
(2) Record your daily health status between Sunday, October 30 and Sunday, November 6, 2022. Show the confirmation screen of the app or submit the printed form at the reception desk to confirm that you had no issues with your health.
(3) Your temperature will be taken at the reception desk.
(4) You must submit proof of vaccination or negative test result at the reception desk.
(5) Once matters (2) to (4) are confirmed, you will be given a wristband to wear.
(6) To reduce crowding at the reception desk, we may ask you to arrive at a certain time depending on your starting block.
(7) Please note that no changing rooms will be available before the start of the race.
During the competition
(1) Carry your mask and wear it when you are not running (before the start, in restrooms on the course, at the first-aid station, etc.).
(2) Refrain from conversations when you are not wearing your mask.
(3) Disinfect your hands and take other measures to prevent infection.
(4) Refrain from spitting on the street.
(5) Make sure to eat and drink quietly and observe social distancing.
After the competition
(1) Once you catch your breath, put your mask back on.
(2) Do not stay in the changing room or other enclosed spaces for a long period, and act promptly.
After the event
(1) Record your health status in the app or form until Sunday, November 20, 2022.
(2) If you experience any symptoms of suspected infection, consult your family doctor or local public health center. If you test positive by Sunday, November 20, 2022, report it to the event organizer immediately.
(3) If you are recognized as an infected person or a person of close contact, cooperate with any inquiries by public health centers.
Staff and volunteer compliance matters
(1) Manage your health from Sunday, October 30 to Sunday, November 20, 2022.
(2) Arrive well in advance to help minimize crowding.
(3) Wear a mask (and other personal protective equipment as necessary).
(4) Refrain from conversations when you are not wearing your mask.
(5) Properly disinfect your hands and take other measures to prevent infection.
(6) Observe social distancing when indoors and on standby.
(7) If you experience any symptoms of suspected infection, consult your family doctor or local public health center. If you test positive by Sunday, November 20, 2022, report it to the event organizer immediately.
(8) If you are acknowledged to be infected with COVID-19 or as a person of close contact, please cooperate with any inquiries from public health centers.
